In our collective search for innovative approaches to managing scarce resources and conserving energy, the members of the California Association of Local Conservation Corps (CALCC) offer a timely, proven and cost-effective solution while also providing at-risk and high-risk young men and women with opportunities and education that will enhance their lives. The Conservation Corps model promotes stewardship of our natural world while helping young people achieve their potential in the urban world. In short, Local Conservation Corps programs help manage resources, conserve energy, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and provide safe and supportive environments where young lives can get back on track and become assets in their families, in their communities and for all of California.
